Observe not only your opponents but also the cards.  Pay attention to the cards that have been discarded so that you don’t play a hand that there is no hope for because of the discarded cards.  You are just literally throwing money away due to the fact of you being nonobservant.  At the same time, be determined in your play.  Don’t play hands that won’t get you money.  If you have a good hand, then go for it, but don’t just play any hand because you want to.  Play real hands that have a real chance of winning.
