Mark Vos, born October of 1983 in South Africa, is an Australian poker player.  Vos excelled during high school and went to Macquarie University only to put off his Bachelor of Commerce degree in order to pursue poker on a full time basis.

Mark began playing poker with friends and quickly moved onto online poker playing and received the nickname “Pokerbot.” He started playing online in 2004 and earned a well-known reputation as one of the greatest online poker players.  He can normally be found at any of the high playing, expensive online games and tournaments.

During the year of 2005, Vos was able to achieve the Pot-Limit Omaha event at the Crown Victorian Poker Championship.  Although he did great at this event, the next year was just that much better and really helped his already outstanding reputation and proved he had what it takes for live tournament competing.

The beginning of 2006 is when Vos achieved 8th place in the Crown Australian Poker Championship main event while winning UAD $83,600.  Since May of the same year, Vos has been a major representation of Full Tilt Poker – Online Poker.  This same year, at the 2006 World Series of Poker, Vos won the $2000 no limit hold ‘em event.  This is where he was able to outlast almost 2000 other poker players.  During this game, Le suspected a bluff when Vos went all in, but Vos was able to defeat Nam Le with his three Q’s against Le’s two pair.  Vos won $803,274 in this event and collected his World Series of Poker gold bracelet in which made him one of the youngest World Series of Poker bracelet winners in history.

Mark Vos finished 80th out of almost 7,000 other poker players earning a total of $77,200 in earnings during the $10,000 buy-in main event.  As of the middle of 2008, he has earned over $1,200,000 in live tournament winnings.  Mark is also known to play approximately 35 hours a week online to this day.
