Marsha Waggoner was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in 1948, and played as an Australian poker player for a short time before moving to Los Angeles, California, in 1987 where she then was known as an American poker player.

Waggoner gained her passion for stud poker as a casino dealer in 1976 in Sydney.  The following year, Marsha decided to really pursue her passion for poker professionally and moved to Reno, Nevada.  In Reno, Marsha was able to fully support her family by playing cards 5 days a week.  She resided in Reno until the mid 1980’s when she then moved to the City of Sin – Las Vegas.

Las Vegas allowed Marsha to display her own talent for tournaments such as Texas Hold ‘em and Seven-Card Stud.  Although Marsha was doing quite well in Vegas, Marsha decided to take another move; this time to California in 1987.

In 1997, Waggoner met Kenna Grob, later known as Kenna James.  Waggoner has accused James of cheating in a tournament, which James denied.  They ended up married and began to travel together playing poker with the nicknames the Cowboy and the Grand Dame.

In 2001, Marsha suffered from severe health problems in which she found out was caused by a brain aneurysm in 2002.  She had a brain surgery in March of 2002 in which after her recovery was able to return to the poker table playing cards.

Waggoner is a successful poker player who still visits her home country, Australia, quite often and is a notable member of the Seniors WCOP/Poker Players Hall of Fame.
