Born in Kolkata, India on October 8, 1947, Mel Judah is an Australian poker player that is also known as “The Silver Fox”. Mel’s father played 5-card draw, which is where he learned poker at the young age of 14. For several years, Judah worked as a hairdresser, which he feels has helped him understand the psychology of the other poker players.
Judah is known for his finished that consist at the World Series of Poker as well as the World Poker Tour. In 1989 and 1997, he won the World Series of Poker bracelets for both the $1,500 and the $5,000 Seven Card Stud Event. When he won $579,375 at the World Poker Tour, he also earned the 2003 Legends of Poker title. Although Mel finished in third place, he was at the final table during the 1997 World Series of Poker main event. He then went on to finish in fourth place at the final table at the 2006 Poker Million.
He was so significantly recognized that he was offered the position to direct the new European Poker Masters tour in 2006. This was the very first independent poker tour within Europe that was produced by The Poker Channel.
Mel Judah now is known to live in London and his live earnings, as of 2007, exceed the total amount of $3,000,000.
