Betting Enthusiast Ram Vaswani

Ran Vaswani is a professional poker player who began his career in snooker. He became one of the youngest members of the Hendon Mob and has won over $3 million dollars in tournaments. He is known as a man who will bet on anything, and his fluctuating bank account is proof. He owns a coveted World Series Poker Champion bracelet from his win in 2007 in $1,500 Limit Hold’em Shootout. He is also known for his win on the Poker National Cup.

Rarn Vaswani was born in 1970 in London. He grew up in Finchley and took on snooker when he was 13. For a few years he hustled tables, but he moved on to poker and let his brother take over game. He started playing cards when he was 9, and enjoyed hosting games for his friends. He was once caught holding a low-stakes poker game with his friends to Wales. To change the standard they used candy instead of money.  While betting on a dog race, Vasawani met Joe Beevers and started a private poker game. Barny and Ross Boatman later joined the crew that is known as the Hendon Mob.

The Hendon Mob is a very skillful and aggressive group of poker players who were all invited to play on TV when the new Late Night Poker show came out. Vaswani appeared in all six series, and reached series 2 Grand Final, and the Semi-Finals of 4 and 5. In 1999 Vaswani qualified to enter into the most prestigious poker tournament of the time, the HFI 5,000 LIDO tournament at the Master Classics of Poker tournament in Amsterdam, but he had to borrow money from Joe Beevers to build up money for the entry fee.

From here his professional career in poker really took off. He placed in the money of the 2001 World Series of Poker followed by his 3rd place win in the $2,000 limit hold’em event. This was accompanied by a 2nd place win at a seven-card event. In a 2004 game of $3,000 no limit hold’em, he also took a third prize.

As of today, Ram Vaswani is the only person known to have made it to 4 final tables on the European Poker Tour. He has many big money finishes from several different tournaments he has played in. One of his biggest wins was in 2007 when he won his first bracelet on the World Series of Poker.

Ram Vaswani is still productive in major tournaments and online play. He loves to bet and will put money on just about everything. Vaswani enjoys golf and has bet large amounts of money on the games. He lives in Finchley with his wife Jackie and daughter Hollie.
