David Benyamine was born July 5th, 1972 in Paris, France. David is not only a professional poker player, but a professional poker player who hold a World Poker Tour title.
Before David benyamine started his career as a professional poker player, he played tennis professionally. David ended his tennis career with early retirement due to major back pain. In addition to the poker and the tennis, David was known as a very successful top ten billiards player in France.
Some people may b not know that David was employed as an au pair in Paris for some time before his sports careers took off. David began to learn to play poker at the early age of twelve and played regular games of high stakes cash games.
David Beyamine was deported from his stay in the United States in 2004 in a horrible mix up, his name was the same as one that was entered on the terrorist “watch list”. The situation was resolved as him being deported due to not having a work permit, as a way to save face. He has since returned to the United States and resides in Henderson, NV.
David is a family man with one daughter and is happily engaged to professional poker and black jack player Erica Schoeberg.
Benyamine has made it to three final tables in the World Poker Tour (WPT) open events that include:
• 2003 Grand Prix de Paris, 2nd season- 1st place (€357,200)
• 2004 L.A. Poker Classic, 2nd season- 6th place ($132,355)
• 2008 Bellagio Cup IV, 7th season – 2nd place ($840,295)
David won the WPT Battle of Champions II invitational event defeating a highly talented bunch that included, Hoyt Corkins, Mel Judah, Antonio Esfandiari, and Phil Laak.
Benyamine primarily plays cash games, but has been known to play more tournaments since the 2008 World Series of Poker. David Benyamine has made it to 4 final tables as of June, 2008, three of them were in 2008 as well as the winning bracelet.
