Soccer Injury Changes Life

Born and raised in Germany Hans didn’t start into the poker realm till recently in 2004 for. He isn’t one of your average poker guys who have always followed it; in fact, he just started even watching it. He was watching TV one day and ran a crossed a poker tournament. While watching it he didn’t realize that it was about to change his life completely because he became instantly addicted. One day while playing soccer he ruptured a crucial ligament and was forced to stay home. This is when he decided to pick up poker he downloaded a program and started online.

When he started he did do some training. He started by reading several books, watching other games, talking with friends, and looking over the histories of hands. When he first started with 5,000 Euros he admits that he was breakeven the first few months. However, after that it finally clicked for him and he hasn’t had a losing hand since.

After playing for a while online he decided to try some live tournaments. All across Germany he developed a very impressive record. In 2006 he decided to go to the Betfair Asian Poker Tour. He managed to end up 7th out of a list of more than 300 players. He ended taking up over $58,000 in that tournament alone. Also in 2006 he played in the BAPT and came in 7th again to wrap up another $58,300. The next year in 2007 he went to another tournament. In the 2007 Aussie Millions he took home 5th place which gave him an amazing $318,000. Besides being on the German Full Tilt Poker team he has also finished his political science studies. He has earned more than $400,000 since he started playing and likes to mainly play online. These four tournaments were the only live ones that he has played thus far.
